This was the 5th time he had been to repair our ice maker. It is still NOT working. He was very curt and rude this time saying, “I don’t make them, I just fix them.” Well, for the 6th time, it is still NOT repaired! Very DISSATISFIED with attitude and performance!! DO NOT want Mr. Purdy“fixing” my appliance ever again. In fact, we have NO CONFIDENCE in Flamingo at all since we have been told by Mr. Purdy that other technicians did not know what they were doing and refused to call Whirlpool Service Dept upon arrival as has been requested because “she doesn’t know what she’s talking about!” He disconnected the ice maker unit and ran water over it to dislodge a very small piece of ice. I asked how I would know how to do that and his attitude was very flippant and curt toward me. He has blamed us for the unit failing to operate properly; however, we STILL don’t have any ice since Mr. “KNOW IT ALL” was out here and declared it was now working fine. I WILL NOT allow Flamingo to work on my appliances ever again. Is it obvious yet that I am very DISSATISFIED???!!!!!!!

For the most part my experience was pleasant, but here are some shortcomings I would like to point out. A. No one from your company ever called me saying two technicians would be coming out to my home. I was under the impression only one would come out. I go into the parking lot to greet Mr. O'Connor and see two pink vans. He noticed I looked confused and he said, "Hey the guy in the second van is someone I am training. He's with me." I understand people need to be trained but a simple courtesy call would have been nice to notify my family and I two techs were coming out. My families apartment was very small and we made accommodations for one tech not two. B. Speaking of small spaces, Mr. O'Connor was constantly reminding the second gentlemen to be mindful of leaning on stuff like my families stove, laundry door, and dryer. My family didn't know if the guy was tired, sick, or simply couldn't stand for long periods of time. He was nice but compared to Mr. O'Connor, him leaning on different appliances, or fixtures, made us uncomfortable. As a whole, the experience was decent. Again, make sure your company gives a courtesy call to your customers should something change and have techs be mindful of what they are applying their bodyweight on.

The overall process took about 7 weeks for various reasons including scarce parts, unkept delivery commitments, and some rigid company procedures (in this case, Flamingo) related to rescheduling appointments when promised parts did not arrive. Some issues we’re related to Asurion, and some to Whirlpool (parts availability). COVID also played a role in all of this. So the process was a bit frustrating, and we’d think long and hard about making similar purchases in the future. A POSITIVE factor in the process was Andrew the Repair Tech, and a few unique Cust. Service reps and a couple supervisors who seemed to genuinely want to help and went out of their way to do so. Andrew was at our home 3 times due to parts issues. He was consistently professional, helpful, and concerned about our situation and it’s resolution. Andrew got it done.
