The KitchenAid KODE500EWH 30″ Double Wall Oven with Even-Heat™ True Convection is designed to deliver premium baking performance. Proper installation is essential for safety and optimal function. Follow this comprehensive guide:
1. Verify Product and Required Parts
Model: KODE500EWH
Included:
- Mounting screws
- Anti-tip brackets
- Installation manual
You’ll Need:
- Phillips screwdriver
- Drill with 1/8″ (3 mm) drill bit
- Level
- Measuring tape
- Wire connectors
2. Confirm Cabinet Dimensions
Ensure your cabinet cutout meets the following requirements:
- Cutout Width: 28 1/2″ (72.4 cm) minimum
- Cutout Height: 50 1/4″ (127.6 cm) minimum
- Cutout Depth: 24″ (61 cm) minimum
Allow for ventilation as specified in the installation manual.
3. Electrical Requirements
- Voltage: 240V or 208V
- Frequency: 60Hz
- Circuit: Dedicated 40 or 50-amp
- Wiring: Three-wire or four-wire, single-phase
Note: A licensed electrician is recommended to complete the wiring to meet local electrical codes.
4. Prepare the Oven for Installation
- Remove all packaging material and oven racks.
- Remove the oven doors to reduce weight (refer to the installation manual for door removal instructions).
5. Connect Electrical Wiring
For a 4-Wire Connection:
- Connect the red and black wires to the incoming hot wires.
- Connect the white wire to the neutral wire.
- Connect the green or bare wire to the ground wire.
For a 3-Wire Connection:
- Connect the red and black wires to the incoming hot wires.
- Connect the white wire to the neutral wire.
- Attach the neutral wire to the ground wire.
Secure all connections with wire nuts and electrical tape.
6. Secure the Oven to Cabinet
- Lift the oven into the cabinet opening with assistance.
- Align the oven with cabinet edges and ensure it is level.

7. Reinstall Oven Doors & Racks
Once the oven is secured:
- Reattach the oven doors.
- Replace oven racks and all packaging removed earlier.

- Install the trim and any additional accessories.
